I highly recomend the Usagi Yojinbo series of comic books. This won't enhance your training or connect you spiritually to anything but they may just make you wish you were a samurai bunny. I enjoyed Angry White Pajamas for what it was, but Heckler's book got on my nerve - he seems like he has a lot to prove. I haven't read the first one - I'll have to check it out.
